First Aid for SchoolsHave you ever been in a situation where a child or teenager or colleague at your school required urgent medical attention or was unconscious and required CPR? Did you have the knowledge and confidence to help them? Or did you stand back powerless and unable to save their life or alleviate their pain?
Children whilst in your care are your responsibility. As such you need to ensure that you have the skills and knowledge needed to step in and assist them, should the situation arise, until proper medical attention arrives.
We’re sure that you can see the point of keeping your First Aid and CPR qualifications up to date, particularly given vocation as a teacher, because children and teenagers are highly prone to accidents and illness and unfortunately an increasing number of children are suffering seizures, asthma and severe allergic reactions such as anaphylaxis to nuts and other food items.
FirstAidPro is a leading mobile First Aid Training organisation who offer specialised training for teachers and other school workers of all descriptions. If you would like to become a pro at First Aid, you need to talk to us.
The Queensland Government has announced that Queensland schools can now purchase Epipens for emergency administration. This is in addition to the prescribed Epipens. Our nationally accredited Apply First Aid course has met specific learning objectives for teaches to administer Epipens for life threatening allergic reactions (anaphylaxis).
Similarly, in Queensland, anyone wishing to purchase asthma reliever medication for First Aid purposes must have successfully completed an Asthma Management Course. This is a 1 hour stand alone course or it can be incorporated into our Nationally Accredited Apply First Aid Course. Our Asthma Management Course satisfies SA Health ‘Specific Learning Objectives’ and each successful student receives a Statement of Attendance in Asthma Management (wallet sized card) which is accepted by pharmacists throughout South Australia.
